Suited Gappers

Hello all! And welcome to the first ever poker blog of Malcolm O’Mally. Let me just say, my name is Malcolm and I am a poker player. I have been playing poker for seven years now, I haven’t played a hand in 27 hours, and I can’t wait until the next poker hand. I am currently a college student at a small private college. I play most poker games, from Omaha to Hold ‘Em to Stud to Draw games, and I love every minute of it. I currently have a weekly segment on a podcast put out by Ante Up! Magazine (see link at the bottom of the page). They are truly THE best pokercast on the planet, and the magazine is pretty awesome as well!
I guess the point of this first blog is just to introduce myself and to also give a little feedback as to what’s going on in my poker life right now. I am just beginning to re-build my bankroll from the ground-up and it couldn’t have started out any better. I finished first in a small, low buy-in sit & go on Tuesday, and although I did get hit in the head with the deck, (i.e. Aces three times in a four hour span, and won all three pots with them) I also played fairly well, but I’ll admit I did get lucky.
I went through the poker cycles, just as most serious players do, got introduced to the game through No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em, (from here on to be referred to as Crappy No Limit Hold ‘Em or CNLHE). I learned new games, Omaha, Stud, Draw, turned into a big giant.....well....limit player. And I am now trying to rediscover the aggressive roots of No Limit. I’m not becoming an exclusive CNLHE player, in fact, of all poker it is my least favorite game. I have just decided to stop playing like a limit player and be selectively aggressive, which means NO MORE CHECKING THE TURN! Among other things. Anyway, I think my first blog is getting a bit long, to tell you the truth, I’m really not sure what this blog is going to be, or what it’s going to be all about, but I think I’ll have fun writing it! I hope I gain some readers along the way, and I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I’ll enjoy writing.
Until next time, I’ll see you on the felt.
